Some very close racing is expected in Ryde next weekend and Islanders are invited to head to Ryde to watch this free event - the best vantage point being from the sea wall by the Canoe Lake.

It's not been the average day for Island Line staff or passengers. First there were horses on the line, then, following a power failure, passengers went back in time to travel by Steam Railway.
The initial scope of the works was to refurbish the Cliff lift motor room and original, 1957, machinery. The programme now incorporates a complete overhaul of the lift cars, pulleys, winches and motor machinery, costing around £800,000.
