Tonight the Isle of Wight Association of Local Councils voted to oppose the proposed school closures.
The motion, “We call upon members of all the IW local councils to vote against all three options and to halt the current consultation process,” was passed.
Of those present, the vote was 13 for the motion and six voted against.
We’re told that the overall feeling at the meeting was that the assembled people were not against change, but the currently proposed options were not right.
Mike Starke (Chale) said, “It’s not a case of going back to the drawing board, but simply adjusting the drawing.”
More details as we receive them.
