The Isle of Wight council have issued a helpline number for residents in Bonchurch who have been affected by last night’s landslip.

A significant movement of land
Emergency services were called to the scene last night (Sunday), after a significant movement of land occurred between Bonchurch Shute and Smugglers Haven Tea Rooms.
Photos taken at the scene this morning reveal the extent of the damage, which saw the back gardens of several properties slip away, as well as the lawn, toilet block and car park at Smugglers Haven.
Road closed
The road is closed, with buses diverting via Wroxall and the authorities are at the site assessing the movement and evacuating more residents.
