The smart phone app (download links below) which shows you, among other things, the Isle of Wight Festival line up, is pretty polished this year, with useful features like letting its users compile a list of acts they want to see, so it builds a schedule.
This feature is useful to festival goers – and (if they’re smart) for Mr Giddings and co, because it’s a great way of gathering ‘Which bands do you like?’ data.
Will you be smartphone-less?
That aside, what do you do if:-
- You don’t have a smartphone;
- You don’t want to take your smartphone to the Festival;
- You think your smartphone battery will run out and you won’t be able to use the app to see what’s coming us, because you’ve been frantically texting/calling your friends to meet up, say to the left of the main stage and you can’t find them among the x thousand other people who are there?
There is a solution – Paper!
Ian Winter has compiled a list of which acts are going to be playing on which stages and when over the extended weekend.
It all runs on a display that you’ll be sure won’t run out of batteries, but like your phone, will have to be kept out of the rain – Paper!
