The Isle of Wight Food Partnership is pleased to announce that, just over one year on from its launch, it is now an official member of the national Sustainable Food Places network.
A year of bringing partners together
The Food Partnership brings together local organisations, businesses, farming representatives, community groups and public sector partners with the aim of tackling food insecurity, supporting local producers, improving access to nutritious food, and promoting sustainability.
Through this collaborative approach, the Partnership, which was set up by the Isle of Wight Council, is helping to build a resilient food system that benefits everyone across the Island’s Biosphere.
Joining a national movement
Joining Sustainable Food Places connects the Isle of Wight to a UK-wide network leading the way on healthier, fairer and more sustainable food systems.
Membership to the Sustainable Food Places Network helps put the Island on the map, strengthening its voice in national discussions while creating opportunities to explore new and innovative approaches to local food challenges.
