The Isle of Wight Heart Care Club will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary on Saturday 12th February 2011 by holding an evening of celebration at the Brading Roman Villa.
The Heart Care Club runs Cardiac Rehab Classes throughout the Island every week with 14 classes taking part for patients who have suffered Cardiac problems.
What’s the Heart Care Club?
Lyn Smith the BACR Phase IV instructor looks after around 300 patients with an hour long exercise programme.
The Heart care Club also arranges weekly visits to St. Mary’s CCU every week to talk to new patients and family members offering advise and helping them understand what is happening, giving them their experiences and how they coped in their position. The Mentor scheme is quite unique with other Health Authorities looking to follow our format.
It is hoped that members of the Club past and present will join in the Celebration evening on 12th February.
