Isle of Wight hot air balloon flights: Advance notice for landowners (updated)

This coming weekend sees the return of hot air balloons at Robin Hill Country Park.

Organisers have issued this courtesy notice to all local landowners and businesses so they are aware of the dates and times that planned hot air balloon flights are expected from Wednesday 18th to Sunday 22nd August 2021.

They say,

“Due to the nature of balloon flight relying heavily on calm winds and stable air, flights are unlikely to take place outside of the following early morning and evening times on those dates: 6am – 7am / 6:30pm – 8pm.

“Balloon flights are operated and managed by qualified flight crews; all pilots are licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority, carry a Certificate of Airworthiness and are not directly controlled by Robin Hill management.

“Pilots are wholly responsible for their own conduct when flying and will in accordance with codes of conduct published by both CAA and BBAC.”
