A former pupil of Sandown High School and Platform One College of Music, has shown that determination and hard work can get you somewhere in the world of music.
Lewis Shepperd has succeeded in knocking out his challengers in a national music competition and made it through to the Open Mic UK competition finals.
Performing hard
Since completing his degree at the University of Chichester earlier this year, the 22 year old Sandown musician has performed at the Isle of Wight Festival, Bestival, V-Dub festival and more.
He also entered the Open Mic UK competition a few months ago and after making it through the auditions, he saw success at the regional finals in Southampton, making it through to the next round.
A couple of weeks ago, Lewis managed to sufficiently wowed the judges once again with his acoustic pop and will be competing in the grand final in January, which takes place at NEC Birmingham in front of scouts from Sony and various other record labels.
