Each year, the King Lud pub in Ryde organises a day-long charity event, Winter LudFest, where Isle of Wight musicians donate their time free of charge to help raise money for the chosen cause.
This year, on 29th November, seventeen bands and artists come together to support the “resurrection of the IW Young Carers ‘My Time’ project.
Suzy from the Lud says,
“The young carers project currently delivers group respite for its 300+ caseload, but understandably some of their clients, due to low confidence, low self esteem and anxieties would prefer to have individual respite from their caring responsibilities.
“The IW Young Carers project, with our help, aims to facilitate individual respite opportunities for most if not all of its young carers this Christmas. Some time to do what they want with who they want, or alone if required, perhaps one to one music lessons or swimming.”
“The gift of time”
Seventeen of the bands and artists that play the King Lud throughout the year will be donating their own precious time and talent to encourage donations.
There’ll also be a raffle and of course, the King Lud team will be donating their time free of charge.
Confirmed for the day are
Red Rock // Red Sqwrl // The Crew // Chiz Jones// Poor Patrol // Riff Raff // Skin Deep // Blues Hotel // Hard Suction // The Dead Perrys // Reggie Balmoral // The Carnaby Kings // Kevin Seventeen // Samantha Vincent // Amber Management // Bloodstone Border Morris
The event will be hosted by Will Cammian and organised by Joshie Adams.
Head to King Lud on Ryde Esplanade on Sunday 29th November for a day and evening of live music.
