Is it really October already? I can’t believe how the year has flown by, but yes, October it is.
The leaves are turning red and gold and with these wonderfully sunny days we’re still having, it’s a great chance to get some beautiful shots that you could enter into the The Isle of Wight Photographer of the Year competition.
Thanks to regular reader Angleisle for the posting on the forum giving details of the comp.
The Isle of Wight Photographer of the Year is the first event of its type on the Island and is structured to include as many new enthusiasts to Photography as to the old. If someone was, say, given a camera for Christmas, they of course may not have the technique or idea of how to use all of the evident technology that is available today in which to produce a printable/presentable image.
With the abundance of up and coming courses now readily available on the Island, especially the ones about to take place in Ventnor, they are now able to in time, follow through all of the details and should they so wish actually have an end result to aim for.
Our aim is to give all Photographers on the Island of whatever skill a chance at a level playing field and actually having to think about what Photographs they take. which hopefully excites the possibilities in the new and resurrects the enthusiasm in the old and they themselves then decide whether their Photographs are to be entered for the competition closing date 18th October 2006.
Given the standard of shots on the VentnorBlog Flickr group, we know that there are plenty of budding photographers out there. So, as the closing date is drawing close, you’d better get your skates on if you haven’t already entered.
Good luck to everyone.
