The Isle of Wight Repair Cafe is returning to Quay Arts in Newport on Saturday, 12th October, starting at 10am.
This community-driven event invites residents to bring items in need of a little TLC, whether it’s a broken lamp, a pair of trousers needing a stitch, or a coffee grinder that’s stopped working.
A chance to fix, learn, and connect
The Repair Cafe offers a unique opportunity to extend the life of household items, with skilled volunteers on hand to repair or advise on how best to fix your belongings.
Organisers encourage attendees to book a 30-minute slot to secure time with the repair team.
The more information provided in the booking form about the item and its issue, the better prepared the volunteers will be, ensuring they have the right tools and supplies on the day.
Join the repair revolution
The event is part of a wider movement aimed at reducing waste and promoting a culture of repair rather than replace.
Organisers are excited to welcome participants who want to be part of the “repair revolution,” helping to save items from landfill and learn new skills in the process.
Help spread the word
Those interested in attending are encouraged to spread the word and join the Repair Cafe’s Facebook page for the latest updates: Repair Cafe Isle of Wight.
The Repair Cafe looks forward to another busy and productive session, filled with community spirit and the sound of things being put right.
