Ofwat have today released figures of price rises for water companies in England and Wales.
As previously reported by OnTheWight, Southern Water who supply the Isle of Wight, announced the average annual water and wastewater bills will rise from £420 to £642 by 2029/30.
News today from Ofwat confirms the average water bill for Isle of Wight residents in 2024-25 will be £606 – a rise of 44 per cent – the highest of all the water companies in England and Wales.
Water outage
Ironically, on the day the price rises are announced, thousands of Southern Water customers are on their second day of water outage.
More than 58,000 properties in Southampton and south Hampshire have been impacted.
