ARRETON
A3056 Arreton Street / Hale Common (from lane to Stickworth Hall to Fighting Cocks Cross junction). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation on each night from 8pm until 6am (Mondays to Fridays, weather permitting) between Tuesday 15 September and Tuesday 29 September 2015 for cable works by Hire a Lite for British Telecom. Traffic delays will occur.
BEMBRIDGE: (outside Shorelands)
Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Wednesday 7 October until approx. 4.30pm on Friday 9 October 2015 for the installation of a new gas service by SGN. Some traffic delays will occur.
BINSTEAD:
A3054 Elenors Grove (outside the entrance to Quarr Abbey) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 7.30pm until 11.30pm on Monday 7 September and on Tuesday 8 September 2015 for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. BLACKGANG:
A3055 Blackgang Roundabout / Access road to Blackgang. Temporary traffic lights will continue in operation until approx. late morning on Wednesday 9 September 2015 until approx. Tuesday 22 September 2015 for the construction of manhole chamber and cable works by CCN Communications for British Telecom.
BROOK:
Brook Village Road (from The Old Coach House to the junction of Badgers Lane). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times between Monday 7 September and Wednesday 16 September 2015 for cable works by Hire a Lite for British Telecom. Traffic delays will occur.
EAST COWES:
Esplanade will be closed from 2.30pm on Friday 25 April 2014 for the foreseeable future between 375 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road and the end of the highway 860 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road. There is no alternative route for traffic. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road due to a landslip. GODSHILL:
A3020 High Street (outside Wisteria Cottage) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am on Saturday 5 September until approx. Saturday 12 September 2015 for roofing works by PGK Roofing. Some traffic delays will occur.
Newport Road (near to the entrance to the sewage treatment works). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on each day between Monday 7 September and Friday 11 September 2015 for drainage works by Island Roads. LAKE:
Ranalagh Road / Cliff Road / Cliff Path. From 1200hrs on Friday 18 July 2014 for the foreseeable future the following roads / path will be closed to vehicular traffic:
Cliff Road / Cliff Path will be closed from point 55 metres to the northwest of the junction with Ranalagh Road to point 185 metres to the south west of the junction with Cliff Gardens (the southern boundary of number 6). Ranalagh Road will also be closed from Cliff Road to a point 10 metres to the west of Cliff Road. During the period of closure there is no alternative route for vehicles. The Fairway outside 84, (junction with Station Approach) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Monday 17 August 2015 until approx. Wednesday 2 September 2015 for urgent sewer repair works by Dynarod Cappagh Brown for Southern Water. Some traffic delays will occur.

Ventnor Road will be closed from 6.30pm until 6.30am on each night (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 7 September and Friday 11 September 2015 (Weather and other circumstances permitting) from A3056 Newport Road to Princelett Shute. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads. The alternative route for traffic is; A3055 Sandown Road, Arthurs Hill, North Road and High Street (Shanklin), A3020 Victoria Avenue and Godshill Road and Canteen Road. Castlehold Lane will be closed from High Street to Pyle Street between 9am on Monday 7 September until Friday 11 September 2015 for the installation of a new water service by Clancy Docwra for Southern Water. Diversion route for pedestrians High Street, St James Square and Pyle Street.
NITON:
Chatfield Road (approx. 200 metres beyond Niton Village). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 7.30pm until 11.30pm on one or two evenings between Wednesday 16 September and Friday 18 October 2015 for drainage works by Island Roads. Nodes Road will be closed from 7.30pm until 6.30am on each night (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 7 September and Thursday 10 September from A3020 Newport Road to Three Gates Road. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works. The alternative route for traffic is; A3020 Newport Road and Three Gates Road. RYDE:
The Strand will be closed between East Street and West Hill Road from 9am on Friday 21 November 2014 until Tuesday 25 August 2015 and from Monday 7 September until Friday 25 September 2015. The closure is for a Sewer Flood Alleviation Scheme to upsize the existing sewer pipeline. The diversion route will be; West Street, Dover Street and Esplanade. Works are due to start near to the junction with West Hill Road. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation when necessary from Monday 17 November 2014 until the end of the scheme. Some traffic delays will occur.
Simeon Street will be closed from 9am on Monday 9 March until 4pm on Friday 25 September 2015 between The Strand and Monkton Street. The diversion route will be: The Strand and Monkton Street. The closure is for a sewer flood alleviation scheme to upsize a sewer pipeline. Access to premises and businesses will be maintained from one end of the road as far as possible during the works.
Monkton Street will be closed from 9am on Wednesday 20 May until 4pm on Tuesday 25 August 2015 and from Monday 7 September until Friday 25 September 2015 between The Strand and Simeon Street. Note these are revised closure dates. The diversion route will be: The Monkton Street, East Street and The Strand. The closure is for a sewer flood alleviation scheme to upsize a sewer pipeline. Access to premises and businesses will be maintained from one end of the road as far as possible during the works.
Lind Hill / Crown Street will be closed from 9am on Monday 3 August 2015 until approx. 4pm on Friday 11 September 2015 between Lind Street and the end of the surfaced highway 35 metres to the south and 30 metres to the east. There is no alternative route for traffic; however emergency vehicle access will be maintained. The closure is for sewer connection works including the construction of new manholes by Dial A Rod Engineering Services.
Upton Road (outside 57a) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Monday 5 October until approx. 4.30pm on Friday 9 October 2015 for a new gas connection by SGN. Some traffic delays will occur.
SHALFLEET:
A3054 Freshwater Road (80 metres Calbourne side of Broad Lane, outside Shalcolme Holdings). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 7.30pm until 11.30pm on one evening between Wednesday 16 September and Friday 18 September 2015 for drainage works by Island Roads. SHANKLIN:
Cliff Path will be closed from 9.30am on Monday 20 January 2014 for the foreseeable future to pedestrians from Skew Bridge Path to Winchester House Car Park. The closure is required due to erosion/ land movement. During the period of closure the alternative route for pedestrians will be; Skew Bridge Path, A3055 Sandown Road and Winchester House Car Park. ST LAWRENCE:
A3055 Undercliff Drive will remain closed from St Catherine’s Road to Seven Sisters Road (Western Junction), between Barrington Lodge, near to the western junction with Seven Sisters Road and Mirables which is located about a mile towards Niton. Following significant ground movement in the area in early February 2014, Undercliff Drive has been physically closed between Mirables (in the west) and a point 560 metres to the West of Seven Sisters Road (in the east) for safety reasons. There is now no access for vehicles or pedestrians. A formal road and footpath closure will be in operation for the foreseeable future. Access to businesses and attractions in Undercliff Drive will be maintained. During the period of closure the alternative route for traffic will be; Pedestrians; A3055 Undercliff Drive, Public Footpath V81, V77, NT28, NT29, NT30 and A3055 Undercliff Drive.

VENTNOR:
Longdown Steps Public Footpath V102 will be closed from 10am on Monday 12 May 2014 for the foreseeable future between South Street and St Catherine’s Street. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons using the footpath until wall repair works have been undertaken. The diversion route for pedestrians will be; South Street, West Street, High Street, Victoria Street, Wheelers Bay Road and St Catherine’s Street.
