The Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra is proud to present a heartwarming Christmas concert on 22nd November 2025 (the audience can choose from two performances at 2pm or 5pm) featuring a vibrant choir of pupils from local primary schools.
This festive collaboration marks the first event of its kind, bringing together the Island’s only symphony orchestra with local children in a celebration of seasonal favourites.
A rich musical experience for all
The concert is designed to provide a rich musical experience for the children taking part as well as the audience, including orchestral selections, choral performances accompanied by the orchestra, and opportunities for audience participation.
The energy and enthusiasm of the young singers have been amazing during rehearsals, creating a buzz that’s sure to light up Medina Theatre. Audiences will enjoy traditional Christmas carols, music from Christmas films including White Christmas, Frozen and The Snowman as well as some classical winter favourites like Sleigh Ride, The Skater’s Waltz and Troika.
The orchestra welcomes a trio of talented guest conductors: Gareth Balch, Will Doyle, and Andy Grubb.
Grubb:The children’s enthusiasm is infectious
Debbie Grubb, IWSO committee member and project organiser, shared her excitement,
“It’s been a joy to visit the schools and witness their preparations.
“The children’s enthusiasm is infectious, and we can’t wait to share this special event with the community.”
