Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra returns Steam Railway for summer concert

The Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra returns to the Island Steam Railway, Havenstreet on Saturday 30th July for what promises to be a fantastic Saturday afternoon of musical entertainment.

The concert will commence at 3pm, and features a number of familiar classical pieces, including the famous Can-Can from Orpheus in the Underworld, Nimrod and Jamaican Rumba, music from Broadway including the greatest musical of all time West Side Story and some classics from the silver screen such as the iconic theme from Jurassic Park.

Train-related pieces
We will, once again, a few interesting train-related pieces including the Copenhagen Steam Railway Galop, Bahn Frei! and the British classic Rhythm on Rails.

Last Night of the Proms
The second half will conclude with a tribute to The Last Night of the Proms, where the audience will be encouraged to sing along to Land of Hope and Glory, Jerusalem and Rule Britannia!

Bring your own seating
The outdoor concert starts at 3pm – please bring your own seating and don’t forget to bring your Union Jacks!

A bar and refreshments will be available.

Concert-only tickets are £12.50 for adults, children (5-15 years) are £6.50. Other ticket combinations are available, including those with train travel.
