Well done to the My Isle of Wight team for having one of their time lapse videos make it onto the Guardian’s ‘The best travel videos on the web’ list.
The video shot during Cowes Week 2011 not only features in time lapse, but also tilt shift (an effect that makes everything appear in miniature).
As well as featuring yachts moving around Cowes, we get to see the floating bridge do its business as well as the Red Funnel high-speed and car ferries.
Soundtrack by IW musician
The soundtrack to the video is courtesy of Isle of Wight musician, Alex Roberts and provides the perfect tempo for the time lapse footage.
We love the last section of the video as the day turns to night and we see the Cowes Week fireworks explode across the water in a matter of seconds.
Another great piece of promotion for the Isle of Wight. Well done to all involved.
