Good to see the continued reassurance of Isle of Wight Radio.
The latest figures are out today showing that they’ve not only increased the number of listeners that they have on a weekly basis – growing from 36,400 per week to 37,900.
This isn’t the only good news for them. Each of those listeners are listening for longer with the average number of hours they’re listening to growing to 13.7.
Half a million hours in a quarter
Looking at the overall figures – total number of hours listened to over the quarter – they’ve achieved over half a million hours, reaching 520,000.
To put this in perspective, this is the highest number of listening hours in the last five years. In stark contrast to the low times, before the current team took over the station, where the total hours was nearly half as small.
VB spoke to Paul Topping, one of the stations new owners, with him telling us that the secret has been not relying just on one show, but growing interest in the other shows, “We’re seeing growth in Breakfast, we’re seeing growth in Tom’s show and Heather’s show has done amazingly well this time round.”
