A fall in those claiming Job Seekers Allowance

Figures for unemployed claimants came out this morning which show that 2,687 people on the Isle of Wight were claiming Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) in September 2013.

Unemployment Benefit figures released by the Office for National Statistics show a fall of 33 since August 2013, which reported 2,720 JSA claimants, and a fall of 307 from September 2012 (2,994).

Most unemployed are not “claimants” anymore because they are not allowed to be. Unemployed are simply unemployed, a statistic that is hard to find and report.

A bit of a pointless exercise now, don’t you think?

Maybe there is space for a new debate having just received the notification from the main electric company about the electric bill going up. Like unemployment we are supposed to just swallow the statistics and excuses. All the electric companies do is act as middle men and tap into the grid. The “huge investment costs” are a con.
