A charity fundraising evening of music in memory of Pete Durham – a musical genius – will be be taking place this coming Friday (11th March) in Shanklin.
There’ll be five groups of musicians playing a wide variety of music which reflect the diversity of genres which Pete was very nimble in.
The bands playing in memory of Pete will be: The Phoenix Jazz Ensemble, The Enormous Small Band, The Leon Simmonds Trio, Toca Bonito Salsa Band and The Castle Jazz Band.
Prolific musical output
As well as being a drummer, he owned a business in Shanklin Old Village for a bountiful amount of years with his wife, Ed.
In addition to playing with numerous Island Bands, he also supported a collection of visiting artists from the mainland.
Accompanying the free entertainment for the night, there’s a chance to get lucky with the raffle prizes and the bar will be open for refreshments throughout the event.
