The Wild OatsIsland music-lovers will be familiar with Spike Oatley and Gareth Maude’s regular performances on the local scene, delivering captivating interpretations of well-known songs intermingled with their impressive original music.

Now, as part of Quay Arts’ live recording sessions, The Wild Oats have expanded their ranks to include Ross Buckley on drums and Tom Day on double bass and will perform an evening showcase of purely original music which will be recorded live before the audience in Quay Arts’ Anthony Minghella Theatre.

Rachel’s Reason provide support
The Wild Oats will be supported by Rachel’s Reason performing an acoustic set of original songs written by Rachel Day.

Rachel’s songwriting was given significant impetus in 2009 after she was invited to perform at Quay Arts’ Acoustic Originals.

Since then, she has gone on to perform her songs, supported by a band of extremely talented musicians, at many high profile events including Gun Wharf’s Chilled Acoustix, the Isle of Wight Festival and Bestival. Rachel now works at Quay Arts and has become heavily involved with supporting and developing the Island’s considerable musical creative community.
