The funeral service for the internationally-known and highly-regarded Isle of Wight shoemaker, Kevin Garlick, has been arranged for Friday 8th March.
Kevin will be passing his shop, One Step Beyond, on Ventnor’s High Street for a final time at around 11.54am, before heading to the Isle of Wight Crematorium for a 12.45pm service.
Tributes still flowing
Tributes continue to be shared on Kevin’s Facebook page from loyal customers around the world.
Those who cannot make the funeral say they will wear shoes Kevin made for them that day and remember him fondly.
Actress Joanna Eatwell posted today (Tuesday),
“We are filming in his boots today on The Mirror and the Light.
“He will be in our thoughts x”
All welcome
All are welcome to attend the funeral service at the Isle of Wight Crematorium, with family and close friends invited to a celebration of Kevin’s life afterwards at the Better Days Cafe.
Crowdfunder raises £2,000
After he passed away on 12th February 2024, the community rallied around to raise almost £2,000 to ensure Kevin has a good send off.
