Vectis Decorative Fine Arts Society at the Quay rounds off this season’s lectures with a feast for the eyes and the taste buds and will be a veritable inspiration for your cooking!

It will feature anecdotes and recipes of artists who loved their food.

Artists often talk about their art in terms of cooking and when we look at a beautiful paintings we often do too!

Ghislaine Howard will relate anecdotes and recipes of artists who loved their food.

We will discuss Toulouse Lautrec, famous in his day for his truly fabulous meals and infamous cookbook; Renoir, who introduced to Paris the pleasures of Provencal peasant cooking, as well as Monet, Cézanne, Picasso and many others.

About the lecturer
Ghislaine Howard is a painter of national reputation named as Woman of the Year 2008 for her contribution to art and society.

She has published and exhibited widely, has had work in the Royal Collection and has had solo exhibitions at many prestigious venues including Manchester Art Gallery, Canterbury Cathedral and Imperial War Museum North. She is also an associate lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Where and when
The Lecture takes place on Thursday 16th June and begins at 8pm. Quay Arts is open from 6.30pm should you wish to purchase supper or a glass of wine.
