This weekend, Medina Theatre came alive with the sounds of music, dance, and applause as over 80 talented students from Fusion Arts Academy took to the stage for their annual showcase.
The event, aptly titled Applause, was a vibrant celebration of the diverse range of performing arts that the Academy offers, highlighting the exceptional skills of its students across various disciplines, from ballet and contemporary dance to musical theatre and musicianship.
The show featured performers of all ages, from age 3 to 78, demonstrating the broad spectrum of talent nurtured at Fusion Arts Academy.
Standout moment
One of the standout moments of the evening was a group performance of “If Only You Would Listen,” a musical theatre piece from School of Rock, which recently earned a bronze award at the prestigious All England Dance Grand Final in Wolverhampton.
Dancing from the age of 2 to 18
The evening was particularly poignant for one student, Felicity Day, who marked her final performance with Fusion Arts Academy before embarking on the next stage of her performing arts career.
Felicity, 18, from Newport, has been a student at the East Cowes-based school since the age of 2. Under the expert guidance of the Academy’s staff, she has developed not only her skills but also a deep love for the performing arts. Felicity will soon be leaving the Island to begin her studies for a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatreat Wilkes Academy in Swindon, one of the UK’s leading performing arts schools.
