Live coverage of potentially ‘fiery’ council meeting

Jump to live coverage.

Everyone is aware of ructions within the Isle of Wight council over last couple of weeks.

OnTheWight was told that tonight’s (Wednesday) full council meeting was where the original plans to overthrow the current administration would be launched, through a vote of no confidence in the council leader, Ian Stephens. Those councillors who it was alleged would be involved in the overthrow, deny it existed.

This was all prior, of course, to the rumours being exposed through OnTheWight on Monday last week.

So if you can summon any interest (we’d understand why not) we’ll be covering it here live, unveiling things as they happen from inside the chamber at County Hall.

Live updates
We’re trying a new way of covering meetings live this evening. If it all goes to plan, you shouldn’t need to refresh the page as updates will automatically appear. You may, of course, want to refresh the page for Reader’s comments.
