Arctic Junkies on stage at Strings

Live music event aims to raise much-needed funds for The Wave Project

A fundraising gig in Newport at the end of the month aims to raise funds for an organisation that supports young people on the Isle of Wight.

The Wave Project offers surf therapy to children and young people in the form of a six-week course.

They harness the power of the ocean to improve the mental health of young people and with 250 already having benefitted, they’re hoping to raise more funds to ensure this great work continues.

Live music
On 29th April at Strings Bar and Venue, there’ll be a night of live music to raise awareness and funds for The Wave Project.

The evening will feature live from the Arctic Junkies – a South Coast based Arctic Monkeys Tribute band that play all of the old school hits.

Also performing on the night will be Isle of Wight musician, John Wroath.
