It’s that time of year again when the Island’s bands and musicians need to get their acts together (ha ha) and create a demo tape for the Platform One/County Press Live Wired Competition.
The competition prize is, of course, to win a place on stage at the Nokia Isle of Wight Music Festival and a recording session at the Platform One studios.
Last year some some brilliant bands battled it out during live heats at the Studio in Newport including The Guy Page Trio, Uberlaser, Goodbye Stereo, Kids Will Be Skeletons, The Shanklin Freak Show, The Kurves, with Magic Octagon taking the prize and playing at the Festival in June.
If you want to take part you’ll need to get your entries in by Friday 24 October.
The first online heat starts the following week when the public will vote for their favourite band.
Check the County Press Web site for details of how to enter.
