Whilst we’re on the subject of sailing, Suzanne and Alan have an update for us on Ludo Bennett Jones’ challenge to sail around the UK. Ed
Since our last report on Ludo Bennett-Jones, who is undertaking a round Britain trip in his very small yacht, the end is in sight for him.
In our first report he had set sail from Cowes and had reached North Devon, this was followed by steady progress despite the unseasonable weather and after heading for Wales, the Isle of Man and Northern Ireland he headed for Scotland.
On course for Cowes this week
He sailed down the East coast of Scotland on his 2,500 N mile trip and in the middle of June was heading for North Sunderland.
With an unseasonable North Sea rounding the Norfolk coast made for a few problems but Ludo sailed on. Over the weekend a sail along the South Coast was the task in hand and his final destination of the Island is on course for this week. We will report again when he gets back to Cowes.
