A new service, EnergyWise, has launched on the Isle of Wight, offering local homeowners bespoke advice tailored to their needs, helping them make their homes
This service includes an in-depth assessment of each property, using thermal imaging cameras to evaluate the efficiency of heating systems.
Comprehensive energy performance report and retrofit plan
Following the assessment, homeowners receive a comprehensive energy performance report and retrofit plan.
The advice provided will include recommendations that can be implemented at little or no cost, along with a medium-term plan for further home improvements.
Assistance with applying for government grants
Additionally, the service offers assistance with applying for government grants to support these upgrades. This initiative is unique to the Isle of Wight in its scale, and local residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity before the scheme concludes in early 2025.
Who it’s funded by
The project, funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, is delivered by Green Isle of Wight CIC as an expansion of a programme currently being run by Testlands in Southampton.
Enabling people to make a material difference to their lives
Lisa Beaney, Managing Director of Green Isle of Wight CIC, said,
“I’m thrilled we can offer this service on the Island.
“It is the missing link that will enable people to make a material difference to their lives.”
People will really benefit from the programme
Luke Newman, Trustee of Testlands, added,
“I am so pleased we are now able to extend this project to the Isle of Wight.
“Working with local organisations means we can deliver this innovative programme to people that will really benefit.”
