A man has been charged with offences following an incident in Newport over the summer.
At around 1.10am on 17th August this year, Isle of Wight Police responded to reports of a fight on the High Street. It’s alleged that a man was assaulted during this incident.
Arrested on the scene
Police arrested two men at the scene, one of which has been released with no further action.
The second man, a 25-year-old from Cowes, was charged with possessing a knife in a public place, and assault by beating, following an investigation.
He has been bailed to appear at Newport Magistrates’ Court on 30th November.
