We’re adding an enhancement to our news stories – Mapping.
It’s extra work for us, but we think, and hope, that you’re going to find it useful.
The idea is simple. If you’re not sure where the geographic location of a story is, there’ll be a map at the bottom of the page that you can look at; zoom in to; zoom out from; or click on for more details.
As is often the case with innovation, while we’re the first news publication on the Island, we’re not the first online news publication to do this.
Our inspiration was the London SE1 community website which is run by VentnorBlog pal James Hatts, who has been innovating hyperlocal news since 1998.
