Masonic raffles at Spithead Lodge convert into vital donations for Foodbank

Steve Haines, the Worshipful Master of Spithead Lodge, based in Seaview, has chosen Isle of Wight Foodbank as his charity for his year in office.

The proceeds of raffles and bottle draws held at the Masonic meetings have turned into items that the Foodbank can distribute to their clients.

The photo shows WM W. Bro Steve Haines delivering 616 bottles of washing up liquid to the Foodbank. During his year so far he has donated, 1,425 toilet rolls and 740 bars of soap.

W.Bro Steve said,

“Giving money to the Charity is all well and good, but to give something as tangible and useful as we are doing is so much more helpful and shows that Masons are here to serve our communities as well as to promote the one of the values that Masonary is founded on, especially ‘relief’.”
