With the recent launch of the 2024 Poppy Appeal, the Medina Marching Band proudly announces the return of the Isle of Wight Festival of Remembrance.
The event will take place at Christ the King College on Friday 8th November at 7.30pm, offering an evening of music, reflection and tribute to honour those who served.
A night of music and tribute
This year’s festival promises a diverse line-up, featuring the Medina Marching Band alongside the Isle of Wight Highland Pipes and Drums. Joining them are the Isle of Wight College’s Studio B Performing Arts, the IW College Public Services group, the IW Air Cadets and the Ryde Sea Cadets.
A traditional Act of Remembrance will anchor the evening. This Drum Head Service, led by the Royal British Legion’s County Chaplain Rev. Whatley, will include Standard Bearers from the Island’s Royal British Legion branches, as well as representatives from local military and youth organisations.
Fourth year of community support
Now in its fourth year, the festival has established itself as a poignant evening that unites community members in remembrance and celebration.
All proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, supporting veterans and their families.
