Meet the Funders returns to help Island groups secure financial support

Last updated:

A major funding event aimed at helping charities and community organisations access vital financial support is set to take place in Newport next month.

Meet the Funders 2026 will be held at the Riverside Centre on Friday, 11th September 2026, bringing together local and national funding organisations for a day of presentations, workshops and networking opportunities.

What’s on offer
The event is open to Isle of Wight organisations of all sizes, from small grassroots groups to larger charities, and has been designed to help attendees better understand the funding landscape and build relationships with potential funders.

As well as hearing directly from funding providers, participants will be able to take part in topic-based workshops and access one-to-one appointments with funding organisations, giving them the chance to discuss their projects and funding needs in more detail.

The event is being organised by the Isle of Wight Council’s Family and Community Team and Community Action Isle of Wight.

Teresa Brimble-Brennan, supporting families project worker, said,

“Securing funding is a challenge faced by many organisations, particularly at a time when demand for community services continues to grow.

“Meet the Funders provides a valuable opportunity for local groups and charities to connect directly with funding providers, learn about available opportunities and gain practical advice that could help turn ideas into reality.

“We would encourage organisations to book their place early and make the most of what promises to be an informative and beneficial day.”

Booking and timings
The event will run from 9am to 4pm, with registration taking place between 9.15am and 9.30am. Places are limited and early booking is recommended.

Lunch will be available to pre-book with payment to be made on the day.

Limited places
Organisers have also advised that workshop places and one-to-one appointments are limited.

These opportunities will be allocated on an organisational basis, with each organisation asked to nominate a representative to attend. Every effort will be made to provide attendees with options that help them get the most from the event.

Organisations wishing to attend must register by 12 noon on Monday, 24th August 2026. Visit: Meet The Funders event 2026
