At last night’s Ventnor Town Council (VTC) meeting, the subject of a memorial bench was raised.
Cllr David George proposed that a memorial bench be placed somewhere in Ventnor in honour of the late councillor Rob Mew‘s service to the town.
The councillor who sadly passed away earlier this year spent over thirty years on the VTC.
As well as his other work for the benefit of the town, he also spent a great deal of working hard to ensure Ventnor has its fair share of benches available.
All councillors agreed this would be a great idea and that a letter should be sent to Mr Mew’s widow asking if she was agreeable and where might be a preferred spot for the bench.
