Monkton Arts is reaching out to young artists across various age groups, encouraging them to participate in a rewarding competition that offers not just financial incentives but also a platform to shine.
A spectrum of opportunities
For those aged between 16 and 25, Monkton Arts presents the “Emerging Artist” category. The winner will be awarded the Crowood Press Award, £250 sponsored by Crowood Press, and an exclusive opportunity for a solo exhibition at the Sara K gallery located within Monkton Arts.
Young artists between the ages of 10 and 15 are invited to enter the “Developing Artist” category. The prize for this category is the Ryde School Award, accompanied by art materials generously sponsored by Ryde School.
The youngest group, up to the age of 9-years-old, can participate in the “Artists in Training” category. The winner will be presented with the Sara K Award, as well as art materials, courtesy of Ryde School.
How to enter
Those interested in participating have until Thursday, 12th October 2023 to submit their artwork. The application process is straightforward: artists are to visit the Website and navigate to the Arts Prize page where they can access the online submission form.
Alternatively, the submission form can be directly accessed via the Website. Once the form is filled out, participants are requested to send their artwork image to [email protected].
A night of recognition
The much-anticipated Monkton Arts Awards night, set to take place on Wednesday, 18th October 2023, will be the platform where the winners of the competition will be announced. But the celebration doesn’t stop at the visual artists.
The evening will also recognise the recipient of The John Ackroyd Award for young engineer of the year.
Additionally, The Papa Owl Awards (more on that later) and The Monkton medalists will be unveiled, making it a comprehensive celebration of young talent.
