Time is running out for Island artists hoping to enter this year’s Monkton Arts Prize.
Saturday 10th October marks the closing date for submissions to the 2026 competition.
An open prize for any medium
Organisers describe the event as the Island’s only open arts prize. Entrants choose their own theme rather than working to a set brief.
Painters, photographers, sculptors and jewellers can all take part, alongside film-makers, digital artists and those working in drawing or mixed media.
Anyone with a piece of artwork to show can find a category that fits.
Entry costs and how to apply
A £15 fee covers each individual piece an artist submits.

A free route in for young artists
A separate Children’s Prize sits alongside the main competition, and costs nothing to enter.
Young artists can put forward up to three pieces each.
The free entry route gives children on the Island a proper chance to show their work alongside adult entrants.
