Mother and daughters run marathon to help Friends of the Animals

On The Wight reader Abigail Sollars and her two daughters are taking part in a number of fundraising runs over the next few weeks and would welcome support.

They’re running in aid of local charity, Friends of the Animals (FOA).

Grateful for their help
Abigail tells us, “We adopted our dog, Sadie from them in June. When she initially came to us she had a limp, which we wanted looked into before committing to keep her. Following investigation she was diagnosed as having a ruptured crutiate ligament. Friends of the Animals arranged for her to go to a specialist orthopaedic vet in Devizes for a repair, where it was revealed she had actually damaged both.

“She had the first repair done last week and will return in a month to have the other one done. Friends of the Animals have funded the cost of all the vets bills/surgery. As a result my daughters and I are taking part in some running events to try and raise some funds to help them continue their vital work with animals.”

Run, run, run
Abigail tells us that on this coming Saturday (27th October) her eldest daughter, nine year old Charlotte, will run in the 2.5k Junior South Run and her six year old daughter, Eadie, will do the 1.5k Mini South Run.

Abigail will then run in the main ten mile Great South Run on Sunday as well as three weeks later taking part in the Gosport half marathon.

That’s nearly a full marathon between them all.

They have set up a BT donate page for people to sponsor them
