East Cowes Town Hall against blue sky

New monthly market coming to East Cowes Town Hall, craft stalls, makers and music (updated)

Market Days CIC is working in partnership with the East Cowes Town Council to start a new market in the heart of the town at the Town Hall in York Avenue.

The gorgeous setting of this Italianate style Victorian building built in 1897  will see host to a range of craft stalls and makers every month starting on Saturday 14th May.

Island Busking Collective
In addition to the market the Island Busking Collective is arranging for street performance and busking around the town to bring added atmosphere and vibrancy.

The Island Busking Collective is a project set up by Market Days CIC

Reardon: Delighted to be backing this market
Tracy Reardon, Chair of East Cowes Town Council,

“We are delighted to be backing this market in the gorgeous Town Hall Building. This market will help bring the community together and make use of the wonderful asset that is at the heart of the town.

“We are really looking forward to meeting all the local producers and makers and welcoming Islanders to the new indoor market.”

Kennard: If you feel strongly about shopping local than where better than at a market
Claire Kennard, Director of Market Days CIC,

“Market Days CIC was set up to revive markets in Newport and the Isle of Wight and we are really happy to be working with the East Cowes Town Council who have been so incredibly supportive and proactive in bringing this idea to fruition.

“This will be our first regular market outside of Newport. We believe that markets are so much more than just a place to shop, they are full of life and connection and vibrancy where you can directly support your local producers and makers.

“If you feel strongly about shopping local than where better than at a market where you can buy produce straight from the grower or maker?”

When
The market will open at 12.30pm and run until 4.30pm, on the following dates:

  • Saturday – 14th May
  • Saturday – 9th July
  • Saturday – 20th August
  • Saturday – 17th September
  • Saturday – 15th October
