A new new service for separated or separating parents has launched on the Isle of Wight. Louise Baugh tells us more. Ed
The Seeds4change team are working with Isle of Wight Separated Families to deliver the Putting Children First Programme, a day workshop designed by Karen and Nick Woodall to enable parents to plan the shared care of children and young people when parents are no longer able to parent as a couple.
The devastating effects of family breakdown have been recently highlighted by the government and the media.
Unfortunately, we now live in a time where there are very few people who have not been involved professionally or personally with a separated family and whilst some couples manage to improve the lives of their children others do not do so well.
The programme will show different ways of thinking, skills and strategies that would be of benefit to most parents.
Taster sessions
To better show you what we are offering we would like to invite you to a Professionals Taster Session presented by Karen and Nick Woodall in our offices at 42 Quay Street, Newport.
We are running morning and afternoon sessions on Friday 19th November, please contact us to book your place. We would like to show you a few of the tools we offer to parents and look forward to meeting you to answer any questions you may have. If you or a colleague would like to attend please contact us on the details below.
Free parent workshops (limited places)
We will be offering our first parent day workshops on the Island on Saturday 20th November and Sunday 21st November.
We usually charge £65 for a day workshop but are currently able to offer some limited free places to your clients.
We encourage parents to attend separately to gain the full benefit of our sessions so one would be invited on Saturday and the other on Sunday. This also enables parents to come to an agreement for childcare over the weekend, perhaps one of the first steps in co-parenting.
If you have a couple that would benefit from our service or would like any further information please visit our website or contact us by telephone on 01983 533813 and leave a message or email us at [email protected].
