The Local Guardian, reporting on the South West of London, had a little piece highlighting the success of one of their older runners at the recent Ventnor Fell Run.
Geoff Newton, of Tadworth Athletics Club, gained first prize in the men’s over-60 class.
It’s no small task, as they report that he had to run 23 miles with ascents of 3,800ft up the Ventnor cliffs.
Frankly walking some of the hills, that these brave souls run up, makes you break into a sweat. Running up them is quite an achievement at any age.
