Nigel completes the London Marathon for St Catherine’s

Nigel:

Thanks to Hannah for this update on Marathon runner, Nigel Rawlence. Ed

On Sunday 21st April, Nigel Rawlence completed the London Marathon in aid of Ventnor-based charity St Catherine’s.

Nigel, who is the step-father of a St Catherine’s pupil, has previously run five London Marathons and also the New York Marathon.

His target time for the London Marathon this year was between four hours 45 minutes and five hours, with his actual finishing time on the day being four hours 51 minutes, which Nigel was very pleased with.

Particularly challenging
Nigel said, “At my age, I found the Marathon particularly challenging, however I was determined to finish without stopping which I successfully accomplished. I feel very touched by the overwhelming support, particularly the crowd support in wake of the Boston bombings. I am very grateful for all who have sponsored me, with over £15,000 raised so far for such a fantastic cause.”
