Osborne House Reunited With Queen Victoria's PaintingA painting that hung in Queen Victoria’s dressing room until her 1901 death has been bought at auction and returned to Osborne House.

The canny Queen bought the painting – La Siesta by the German artist Franz Xaver Winterhalter – in 1841 for £200, which has now risen to its present day £73,250 auction price.

It’s hanging in the drawing room of Osborne House for the while, giving visitors a chance to see it up close.
