Over £10,000 of jewellery stolen in Isle of Wight burglary

Police have launched an investigation following a burglary during which thousands of pounds worth of jewellery was stolen from a house on the Isle of Wight.

Officers were called to the address in Fishbourne Lane, Fishbourne, to reports of a burglary which happened some time between 9.30am and 6pm on Thursday, 15th September 2016.

Items stolen
Two jewellery boxes containing earrings, rings, bracelets and necklaces were stolen, worth an estimated total of £10,000.

One of the boxes is described as being a small chest-type design, of a dark metal colour and with an ornate pattern.

The other is a cream travel jewellery box with a leather-look finish and a press stud fastener.

One of the yellow metal rings has the Maltese cross design all around the band in a repeat pattern and another has a Greek design cut to the band.

Detective Constable Lee Parker said:

“This property is along a busy road so we are keen to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in that area during the day.

“What you think is a trivial piece of information could be significant in our investigation.”
