Phoenix Choir March 2022

Phoenix Choir perform their first concert in over two years

The Phoenix Choir is delighted to announce that it will be performing again after a two and a half year sabbatical on Saturday 2nd April at East Cowes Town Hall.

The pandemic resulted in all 2020 concerts being cancelled and 2021 options did not come to fruition due to lockdown restrictions.

Seeking Alto and Bass singers
The number of choir members has decreased over that period due mainly to retirements and members leaving the Island. There are now opportunities in both the Alto and Bass sections.

Those interested should be able to either read or closely follow music. Please contact the Musical Director for further details ([email protected]).

2022 programme
Our 2022 concert programmes will include a large percentage of songs new to the choir, and will again encompass the same eclectic mix of tunes from musicals, films and other popular numbers.

The choir was established in 2009 and to date has raised more than £50,000 for local good causes and charities.

Fundraising for 100-year-old organ
The concert on 2nd April is in aid of the East Cowes Methodist Church Organ Fund.

The organ is 100 years old and the necessary refurbishment requires transportation to the mainland, resulting in travel and associated costs.

We hope that you will support the choir’s return and help raise some needed funds for this worthwhile project.
