The Phoenix Choir will be performing in Holy Trinity Church Bembridge on Saturday 5th October at 7.30pm and are delighted to support the above appeal.
Admission is free but there will be a retiring collection.
Michal MacInnes, Chairman of the Friends of Holy Trinity said,
“This is an important appeal as a portion of the masonry surrounding the tower has fallen away and needs urgent repair and there are now safety concerns.
“Whilst the scaffolding is in place, the opportunity will be taken to repair and repoint other parts of the structure.
“The masonry problem is causing moisture to penetrate the inside of the tower which will require complete redecoration after the exterior has been made watertight.
“This will be an expensive, but essential project.”
What to expect
The choir will be singing from their wide-ranging repertoire of songs from musicals, films and other genres. Included in this programme, amongst others, will be ‘O Sole Mio’, ‘Circle Of Life’ (The Lion King), ‘Bring Him Home’ (Les Miserables), ‘My Heart Will Go On’ (Titanic), ‘Thank You For The Music’, ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ (Carousel), ‘Sailing’ and ‘Pie Jesu’ (Lloyd-Webber’s Requiem).
November concert
The choir are also looking forward to singing again with Russell Watson when he returns to All Saints Church in Ryde on Thursday 28th November – more information and tickets available on the website.
