Pick Of The VB Week

Glorious sunshine and blue skies are still with us, what a great start to the week and long may it last.

Pick Of The VB WeekGreat news reached us last week of a new festival being organised by our friends at Bestival. Camp Bestival is planned for July next year and early bird tickets went on sale yesterday. If you want to be part of it, make sure you book yours now.

Simon put out his pictures and audio from the Wight Zombie March last week and Darren from Winter Productions sent through his footage of the night. We hear that another march is possibly being organised for just before Christmas and may take place during the day.

VB reader Stuart George alerted us to discussion of Ventnor on last Monday’s BBC R4 programme Genius.

Simon wrote a clearly tongue in cheek piece about it, but we hear that that a couple of people in town failed to understand the humour in it.

As the Undercliffe Drive investigation continues, last week saw yet another of those involved, John Lawson, former Deputy Chief Executive get the boot. A former colleague commented in his defence, scapegoat or guilty, who knows?

Finally, news of a memorial service to be held on 18 November to remember those who lost their lives in the tragic plane crash of 1957. Those organising the event are keen to get in touch with anyone connected to the plane crash, recusers, those on the plane, or family of those who lost their lives. If you know of anyone connected, do please let them know.
