Plans submitted to convert former public toilet into one-bedroomed dwelling

Plans have been submitted to Isle of Wight council for change of use to convert a former public toilet in Wroxall into a one-bedroom self-contained dwelling.

The single storey block on Grove Road, would be split into two large rooms, with a kitchenette to the east and a shower room to the west.

Green frontage and garden area
Pre-application advice from the Planning Department suggested that providing a green frontage and garden area would be more appropriate to the setting of the block, as it would offer a more attractive outlook for residents and improve the street scene.

The Planning Dept also advised the scale, size and mass of the building should be kept as close to the existing as practicable. The proposal largely retains the existing footprint with a small infill to the front.
