Stiletto planter:

Creative green fingers invited to take part in competition

Thanks to Ben from Age UK Isle of Wight for sharing details of this upcoming event that includes a competition readers can take part in. Ed

Watering cans, your tired boots or jeans, a wheelbarrow that’s seen better days or even your old bath, if you can plant in it we want to see it!

This year the Wolverton Manor Garden Fair is asking all green-fingered folk on the Isle of Wight to get creative, to recycle and upcycle whatever they want to create the most innovative, ingenious, memorable and beautiful flower planters and displays. The only rule is … no pots allowed!

Prizes galore
There will be prizes and Best in Show rosettes on the day to be won for the top planters and displays as chosen by a judging panel.

Entry to the competition is only £5 per planter, which includes entry for one person to the Wolverton Manor Garden Fair on Saturday 30th August (normal ticket price on the gate is £6).

Register now
To register for the competition simply complete an entry form from the Age UK Isle of Wight Website or give their Fundraising Team a call on (01983) 525282.

All entries must be brought to the Wolverton Manor Show by Midday on Saturday 30th August for the judging and prize ceremony that afternoon.

Entries can also be submitted on the day but the normal ticket price of £6 will apply.
