Platform One College of Music pupils achieve fantastic results

  • Outstanding results have been achieved across all programmes of study.
  • Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Music is the equivalent of studying 3 full A Levels.
  • All students also work towards Grade 8 in their main instrument of study.
  • 12 students achieved the equivalent of three straight A grades at A Level.

Lauran Hibberd and Oliver Old achieved the highest grades possible, achieving Distinction* Distinction* Distinction*, which is the equivalent of three A* grades at A Level.

They also achieved Grade 8 in their main musical instrument of study, which is also equivalent to a full A Level.

Over 500 UCAS points
In fact these two students achieved over 500 UCAS points – the maximum universities ask for is normally 360 points.

Having travelled around the UK to select university choices both students have decided to stay at Platform One to study the BA (Hons) Commercial Music, which was written by Platform One and validated through University of Chichester.

Moving on to universities
81% of students will progress to higher education at various universities.

Platform One has been described by music industry Rob Da Bank as ‘one of the brightest, futuristic looking schools he has ever seen’

Always above national benchmarks
The results at Platform One have never dropped below national benchmarks that are set by the government.

The results have remained remain significantly above national government benchmarks since Platform One was established in 1999.

Platform One are still taking applications and auditioning for September 2015.
