Police Appeal After Man Seriously Injured In Crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a crash on Brading Downs Road where a man was seriously injured.

At about 9.30am on Saturday, January 8, a blue Mazda 323 was travelling from Ashey towards Brading along the Brading Downs Road, Brading, when the driver lost control, left the carriageway and collided with a tree.

The 33-year-old male driver, from East Cowes, sustained multiple injures and was trapped in the vehicle.

The Isle of Wight Fire Service attended the scene and used cutting equipment to release the man from the car.

He was taken to St Mary’s Hospital by ambulance and underwent surgery for his injuries. His condition is currently described as serious but stable.
